How Short Term Rental Marketing Pros Work Faster & Smarter

Using these tools

Today I'm going to give you the tools I use to work faster and smarter.

A.k.a, my marketing tech stack.

These tools are the backbone to my marketing company. Without them, we wouldn't be very good at our jobs.

Let's get into it...

My SEO Tools

I use these to help me get the traffic I want from Google.

1) Semrush

Semrush powers my SEO process.

With Semrush I can:

  1. Find trending keyword ideas for new content.

  2. Discover which pages I should improve.

  3. See where my competitors get their organic traffic.

I use this tool everyday. It's amazing.

Cost: $139/mo.

2) Google Keyword Planner

Keyword Planner is another way I find keywords.

I use this tool as a second source of data when creating an SEO strategy. Simply, because two is better than one.

Note: You must have a Google Ads account to use Keyword Planner. You don't have to spend nothin though.

3) Google Search Console

Search Console monitors my website's performance on Google.

I use this tool to:

  1. See which queries (keywords) people use to find my site.

  2. Submit pages to Google after every update. (This makes ranking higher more likely).

Search Console is how I see if my SEO efforts are paying off.

My Ads Tools

I use these to increase the likelihood my campaigns are successful.

1) Meta Ads Library

Meta Ads library lets me see the ads my competitors are running.

Yeah, seriously.

Just type in your competitors Instagram or Facebook handle and you can see their creative.

I use this for inspiration.

Cost: FREE

2) Google Transparency Center

Just like Meta Ads Library but for Google.

I use this tool a little more strategically.

Google has a ton of different ad types (text, image, YouTube, etc...) so, I like to see which ad type my competitors are running.

Cost: FREE

3) Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to see how my ads perform.

This tool measures website traffic and engagement. I can see:

  1. How many people came to my website.

  2. Which pages were viewed from an ad.

  3. The number of times a booking was completed from an ad.

Without Google Analytics, my advertising campaigns would be a guessing game.

My Social Media Marketing Tools

I use these to make social media marketing easier.

1) Descript

Descript is no ordinary video editing software.

You can edit videos using a transcript.

So, if you ever wanted to delete an "uh" but couldn't find the audio spike in a traditional timeline, with Descript you just highlight and delete "uh".

It's incredible.

Note: I only use Descript to edit videos where someone is talking. I'll use Capcut or Adobe Premiere Pro for videos without talking.

Cost: $19/mo.

2) Loomly

Plan and schedule social media posts ahead of time.

I use this tool to plan out my posts but I never publish through Loomly.

Why?

I kind of think social platforms don't like us using scheduling tools.

The algorithms want us to interact and be social with other users. Scheduling tools allow us to avoid doing that.

Which leads me to my theory:

If we use scheduling tools to post, then social platforms won't see us as active users and we'll get poor engagement.

Cost: $32/mo.

3) Canva

This easy to use graphic design tool is so fun.

You can throw text on a photo, design a logo and so much more.

I use Canva for Instagram ad creative and promo posts. Like a discounted stay or giveaway.

Cost: FREE or $15/mo.

My $195/mo. secret tech stack

These tools allow me to keep up with the volume required in a digital marketing world.

Without them, my job would be slow and gruesome.

Try them out! Let me know what you think.

That's all for today. I'll see you in the next article.
