I Posted 30 Times in 1 Month. Here's What I Learned...
Are daily posts on Instagram worth it?
Last month we posted daily for a client on Instagram and I want to talk about it.
If you've ever studied social media marketing, I guarantee you've seen preachers of the message:
"Post everyday and you'll be successful."
I've been in marketing for 6 years and have built multi-six figure brands using social media. I've never posted every day.
Even with that being said, I have always wanted to do it. Some part of me always felt like a loser left out for not trying it.
Some people have always wanted to go skydiving, I've always wanted to post daily.
Don't laugh at me.
So we did it. Here's what I learned:
#1: Call Out Your Perfect Guest
We tested two different types of Reels that perform well in the rental space:
Styles that are trending: Based on viral Reels I've saved.
Direct callouts: Reels with text on the screen that speaks to a specific person. (i.e. families or couples)
The actual content of the video didn't change much. It was the text on the screen that we tested.
Direct callouts performed better overall.
#2: Make DMs a Priority
After about 14 days, people started messaging the account with questions and requests about booking.
This is an awesome opportunity to turn people into guests by connecting with them and answering their questions.
Note: I know a gal who is building her entire business through DMs. This is such an underrated strategy.
#3: Say Things Everyone Agrees With
Everyone should agree with the text on the video. For example:
If I said "Minnesota summer sunrises are the best" most people would disagree.
But, if I said, โsummer sunrises are the best,โ most would agree.
That little tweak makes a huge difference.
#4: Tell a Story With The Footage
Our best video had a storyline to it. It was an entire sequence of the actor making a delicious breakfast.
People love stories and will watch an entire video just to see the outcome. Even if they already know what's going to happen.
Videos with a storyline increase watch time.
Videos with longer watch time get shown to more people.
More views = higher chances it'll find your next raving fan.
#5: Use The Best Videos As Ads
Any video that did well immediately turned into an ad.
Why?
Because any content that does well organically usually does well as an ad.
This helped us:
Spend less time on ad production.
Save on wasted ad costs.
Get better results.
Last Notes:
I'm not saying you should start posting everyday. Honestly, It was a really expensive time and money investment.
I'm just saying, if you want to use Instagram as a marketing machine. Do this:
Call out your perfect guest with onscreen text.
Use DMs. They're a great tool.
Create content that resonates with most people.
Tell a story in the footage.
Use the best content as ads.
That's all for today. I'll see you in the next article.
