Does Email Marketing Work?
The short term rental marketing tactic no one talks about
I believe having an email list is essential for the sustainability of your business.
For multiple reasons:
It allows you to own your audience
You won't get hurt by algorithm changes
You can control the distribution.
Conversion rates are also much higher with email compared to other channels.
Here's a real world example:
Last month, I was hired to do a marketing audit by a multi-million dollar business. They wanted to understand what to do more of.
Conversion rates for this client weren't that good. 1% here, 2% there. But when I got to conversion rates from email?
6.5%.
400% higher than all other channels they had.
I told them do more email.
Email Still Gets More Engagement Than Any Other Marketing Medium
Most rental operators think guests will get annoyed with too many emails.
I personally get excited every morning when I check my email, because I know there's a new batch of content sitting in my inbox.
It's like Christmas morning.

In order for someone to join your email list, they have to willingly give you their email.
That means they want to hear from you. It's a sole intent.
Whereas social media users follow for various intents.
Users have different mindsets when they check email. They're ready to pay attention and soak up important information.
It's a big reason why email engagement rate is so high.
Not only is email more engaging and personal - but it's manageable
Unlike social media, email works in your favor.
There can be times where your Instagram posts don't get shown to your audience. This could be because:
You posted at a busy time.
Your audience just isn't as engaged today. (doom scrolling).
Instagram is mad at you because you commented the ๐ฉ emoji too many times.
Social media platforms optimize for time on screen. If someone has a cooler post or yours didn't cut it, they'll knock you off the rolodex.
That's why social media engagement tends to be so low.
How To Quickly Build an Email List
The best way to build an email list is to give website visitors something.
Here's how you can take action and grow an email list:
1. Place a lead magnet on your website
A lead magnet is marketing lingo for, "give incentive for an email address." Some great options are:
Stay giveaways

2. Promote the email list to your audience
If you already have a social media audience, tell them about your newsletter. Your raving fans will always want more.
3. Use StayFi
Collect email addresses when guests access your Wifi.
Email Removes You From The Content Rat Race
Communicating with an audience on the world-wide web continues to get more difficult every year.
Platforms become more crowded.
Algorithms change.
Creating quality content is like a Hollywood production now.
An email list doesnโt get affected by those changes.
